Launch of  the National Framework for Recovery in Mental Health 2024-2028

HSE Mental Health Engagement and Recovery recently updated the framework and guides to support people who use the services, their family members, carers and supporters and HSE service providers to inspire and create more engagement activity. At a recent event in the Sheraton Hotel in Athlone, the Framework was launched by Dr. Lorcan Martin President, The College of Psychiatrist Ireland. Fran MacKeever, Family Peer Support worker CHW and Maria McGoldrick Area Lead for Engagement, CHW were part of the co production working group for the updated Framework.

On the day, Fran co presented the new National Framework for recovery in Mental Health and Maria participated in the panel discussion “Co Production in Action”  alongside Charlie Meehan Head of Services for CHW. The discussion was hosted by Catherine Brogan, Chair of the National Implementation and Monitoring Committee Sharing the Vision Mental Health Policy and the event was opened by Michael Ryan Head of Mental Health Engagement and Recovery.

The Framework highlights the value and expertise of lived experience as an equal and essential partner in a recovery focused mental health service alongside its clinical, social and community partners. You can view the new Framework Here
